Install in a minute

  1. Open the download

It’s a .zip. Double-click it and drag Play That Back into your Applications folder.

  2. Open Play That Back

The first time, macOS checks that it came from the internet. Choose Open.

  3. Buy inside the app

Read the Terms and Privacy Notice, then choose Buy. Checkout opens in your browser.

  4. Come back and unlock

Choose Check purchase. Play That Back unlocks once the payment is confirmed.

  5. Keep your license key

Settings → License shows it. Keep it somewhere safe; it unlocks your second Mac too.

  6. Connect your AI when you want reviews

Settings → AI Connections. Gemini is the one to pick for Compare. Adding, recording and watching videos work without it.

  7. Allow recording the first time

When you first record a reference, macOS asks for Screen Recording permission. Turn on Play That Back in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.

If something’s off

I paid, but Play That Back is still locked.

Choose Check purchase. Confirmation can take a moment after checkout. If it still won’t unlock, contact support with your receipt email.

It says both Macs are in use.

Open Settings → License on a Mac you no longer use and deactivate it, then activate this one.

A post won’t play in the Recorder.

It may be private, removed or age-restricted, or its owner may have turned off embedding. Those posts can’t be played inside the app, so they can’t be recorded. Check that you can open it without signing in, and paste the direct link to the post.

Recording needs permission.

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, turn on Play That Back, then come back to the app. If macOS asks, quit and reopen Play That Back.
